say hello to

Weary

welcome to the empress project

This is a heartfelt invitation for you to discover the transformative power of creativity, for full on self-expression, deep healing, connection, and the reclamation of our stories and joys.

The Empress Project is a platform to celebrate black womanhood and wellness.

We live full lives despite racism, and the last thing we want to feel is victimized by it.

However, its impact on our bodies and emotional health cannot be ignored.  Racial harm sticks in our  bodies and psyches in ways we don't even know. We become surthrivers, adhering to norms, forging ahead with determination, and surmounting obstacles with unwavering resolve. We have mastered the art of perseverance.

This is a space to safely unravel life experiences we face as black women,  a space to celebrate our uniqueness, reclaim our narratives, and ease into wellness.

Here, your self-expression is liberated, unencumbered by the fear of being misconstrued, dismissed, or self-silencing.

it's  time to  tend to our hearts...

our most popular workshops

twice as g and h IC.jpg

be twice as good, work twice as hard

A healing painting journey  looking at the silent killer credo ingrained upon us as black women - driven into our psyches as a means to survive, be noticed and accomplished within a world of supremacy that negates us.

COMPASSION & EMPOWERMENT

In this workshop we explore wounds experienced in areas we exist in to work, learn and aspire. We will honour our coat of protection of the strong black woman and paint through hurtful, soul wounding lived experiences in white spaces.  celebrate our talent and skills that got us there in the first place, and that can take us to places of unlimited possibilities.

Themes:  Self-Love, Self-Acceptance, Self-Compassion, Self-Care, Healing Racial Trauma, Healing Childhood Wounds.

VULNERABILITY & LIBERTY

In this safe and nurturing space, participants gain a profound understanding and cultivate compassion for the masks we often wear. These masks are not merely disguises but layers of protection, shields we use to navigate spaces that may not always embrace our true selves
